May I Have Your Attention Please?
This is a stitching-related post. Well, okay, mostly stitching related! LOL Just wanted to let you all know that I've been stitching!!! It's nothing big and it's not any of my current WIPs, but the important thing is that I'm putting needle and thread to fabric and making.....an ornament!!
I actually started this ornie a few weeks ago, got it about two-thirds stitched and decided I didn't like the fabric color I'd started it on. Since it's such a cutie, though, I went diving into my stash and found a nice piece of blue fabric to stitch him on and restarted it late last week. Here's my little bit of progress on Another Snowman Ornament (I'm not kidding you; that's its name), a newsletter freebie, by Val's Stitching Stuff. He's on some kind of blue fabric and stitched using Crescent Colours threads.
I'm still working a lot outside in the gardens, both the veggie and the flower gardens. As a matter of fact, I planted some more flowers yesterday and Mark's been busy building another vegetable bed so that we can plant more tomatoes that we picked up over the weekend. Really, can one have too many tomato plants?!?
My daylilies continue to bloom, and I love it! I don't have too many daylilies because they usually only bloom once and then they're finished for the year. I really prefer flowers that have a longer blooming period, but I love the look of daylilies, so I have them in my flower bed.
Pure & Simple, looking purely simple
Golden Girl, very glittery and a pretty golden yellow.
Lastly, San Antonio Firecracker is still popping.

Hope & Anticipation
Everything is established in the veggie garden. All the plants are growing and doing well. Fruit is setting on our tomato plants. The yellow squash has 2 little babies on it. The zucchini is starting to put out flowers. The okra has buds. The bell peppers are flowering and setting fruit. The strawberry plant has new buds and may produce another round of fruit. The cantaloupes have started flowering, but haven't put out any female flowers yet. (The boys have to strut their stuff first! LOL)
But this...THIS has been the most exciting thing going on in the garden.

This is a Sugar Baby watermelon and it's so fun to go out in the garden and check its progress everyday. I love the hope and excitement brought about in the garden. Here's another exciting picture. This should open tomorrow. Will be fun to see what it looks like.

Walt the Malt Sorta Finished
I've finished all the stitching on Walt. I actually finished him a couple of weeks ago. I need to root around in my button stash and find some buttons to add to him. This was a really fun stitch.
In other stitching news, I've started another small ornie. So, I'm getting back in the swing of things stitching wise. It will help when the temps outside rise and it's unbearable to be out in the yard.

A Wee Bit of Progress
I'm still plugging away on LHN's Heart of America. Didn't get much done on it this past week as my mother-in-law came back from Tennessee with my husband. Much of my free time was devoted to her this week and not my stitching.
Here it is after a couple more hours on it this week. My house is now complete and I'm working on framing the windows and the door.
I'm planning on moving onto something different this week, but I don't know what! It's not like I don't have anything else to work on. I'm definitely not hurting for anything to stitch! LOL
I'm also slowing finishing the de-cluttering in the middle bedroom. That also got put on hold last week. With all the computer parts I've found, computers could be built for everyone in my family! Sheesh! What in the world do you do with all this junk?!? Yesterday, I opened a box here in the den, and it had more empty boxes of computer stuff in it (hard drives, computer software, etc.). Good grief! My husband told me last night that he was thinking of bringing back a CHAIR from his mother's. I told him in no uncertain terms, "NO!!!!!!!!!!!" I'm tired of my house looking all ghetto and until we get some of the unused furniture out, nothing is coming in. He just doesn't get it....
The garden is growing by leaps and bounds! We've had 3" of rain in the past week which makes for very happy plants. The string for the beans will go up this week as well as the trellis for the peas. The watermelon are starting to send out their vines and I've seen little flower buds on them. The mater plants are filling in and starting to look less anemic. The onions are doing great, finally standing up on their own and filling out. The radishes are almost ready to pick!! The squash are blooming and setting fruit. I'm so excited! I love to see things grow!
Straight Neck squash blooms above bring baby squash below!
The plant that brought me these beauties below may have lost its life. It was blown over in the 60mph winds we had on Saturday afternoon. I came home to find it laying on the ground, beaten down by the wind and the driving rain. I staked it up yesterday afternoon and hopefully, it'll revive itself and continue to bloom like crazy.
