Quaker Acorn--Last Finish of 2010

Saturday, January 01, 2011

I put the final stitches in Quaker Acorn last night while watching the New Year's Eve shows on TV. This was a really fun stitch!

Quaker Acorn

The Workbasket

Stitched on 32 ct. Toasted Pumpkin linen from R&R

Fiber used: Mudpie--Crescent Colours' Belle Soie Silk

I want to thank all of you who posted on the passing of my Callie-girl. It's been a rough week, but I have peace knowing that she's no longer in pain or suffering. I know that many of you have walked this road and struggled with the same decision I struggled with. I still shed a tear every now and then, but I didn't cry myself to sleep last night, which is an improvement. Thank you for your care and concern.

Here's to a great 2011!!

Love this acorn!!! Thanks so much for linking to the site so that I may grab it for myself! Happy Stitching in 2011!

Congrats on your last 2010 finish! Hope to stitch that acorn one of these days too.

I was so sorry to ready about your dear Callie's passing. I loved reading about how you adopted her. What a beautiful story! I've had to say goodbye to cat companions over the years, several to renal failure. It never gets easier but I've learned to focus on how grateful I am to have met, loved and cherished them while they were here. Have you heard of the poem, "Rainbow Bridge". I find it very comforting even though I can't read it without crying.

Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog. I look forward to following your blog.
