Wednesday's Captions

A friend of mine mentioned that after I do a "Wordless Wednesday" post, I should probably tell you what the pics are for any inquiring minds who would like to know. So here goes!

1. Progress on LHN's Heart of America piece
2. Progress on LK's "Joy" ornie, my lunchtime project.
3. My Israeli cantaloupe~He's a BIG boy!
4. Blackberry Lilies after the rain.
5. Callie curled up on the hand towel I left laying by the computer. She's such a pretty desk accessory and she has a towel fetish. She LOVES laying on towels!

Moving Along on My July Ornie & a Giveaway!

I've been stitching Lizzie Kate's "Joy" ornie from one of the Tiny Tidings leaflets this month. I've taken it to work with me and stitch on it during my lunch hour. On a good day, I can get about 20 minutes of stitching time in. I also worked on this during SNS last night and made some good progress.

Before SNS:

After SNS:

I've also been stitching on Little House Needleworks' "Heart of America". I'll post a pic of my progress on that tomorrow. I want to see how far I can get on it today.

In honor of the birth of her first grandchild, my friend Jan at Belfonte Notes is having a giveaway. Just post a comment on her blog to be entered to win!

Something Old, Something New

This is my progress on Heart of America from the past week. It's my "old" project.

Here's my ort jar. It's also old.

This is the start of my July ornament. It's probably about an hour's worth of work. Lizzie Kate's Joy from Tiny Tidings XII (I think) stitched on 28 ct. Toasted Almond using DMC fibers.

Just a note about the food pic in my Wordless Wednesday post. It was chicken fajitas with peppers from our garden. It was VERY tasty and didn't last past my lunch leftovers the next day at work!

Progress on Heart of America

Here's what I've gotten done since Saturday night. I'm really enjoying this, so I've decided to continue working on this project for the week. I really don't feel the "urge" to move onto another project at the moment and I'd like to get this block finished this week. Don't think I'll make the SAL deadline to have the whole piece finished, but I'm enjoying this project and that's what is really important. Please forgive the crummy picture, but I was being lazy and didn't want to take it out of the q-snaps to lay on the scanner.

Saturday Night Stitch Progress for July 4th

Even though yesterday was a holiday for most folks, I had to work my normal Saturday shift. I don't mind working on holidays like the 4th of July because it's usually slower, our customers are great, and we get to goof off a bit while we work. After work, I came home and took a nice, long nap, then woke up to watch the 4th of July celebrations on TV. No better way to watch fireworks than from inside in the air conditioning! LOL You also don't have to worry about your view being obstructed and you can actually hear the music to which the fireworks are choreographed.

While watching the fireworks and listening to the patriotic music, I stitched on Little House Needlework's Heart of America piece. Here's where I started:

And here's where I stopped:

I'll work on it again today and post a pic of my total progress for the week soon.

Our 4th of July harvest: a couple of okra pods, 1 red bell pepper, and 1 Sugar Baby watermelon
